as far as I know, ETC is the anarchist core who states that "Code is Law" and I don't see a bright future as this is the result of a hard-fork where it's obvious that ETH is making huge progress while ETC lacks all the advantages from the Ethereum Foundation. But for short terms in a hyped volatile market, you don't really need a long-term orientation :)
