Nakamoto has claimed to be a man living in Japan, born on 5 April 1975.[2] However, speculation about the true identity of Nakamoto has mostly focused on a number of cryptography and computer science experts of non-Japanese descent, living in the United States and Europe.[3] One person, Australian programmer Craig Steven Wright, has claimed to be Nakamoto, though he has not yet offered proof of this.[4]
As of 24 May 2017, Nakamoto is believed to own up to roughly one million bitcoins,[5] with a value estimated at over $2 billion USD.
Have you every heard the story of 10000 bitcoin used to pay for a pizza in 2008 or the early years ?
Etherum and ripple is future!!
I got Counterpartyd running on my machine like a day after the burn period ended. I was very sad a few days later when those XCP were worth 7x the burnt BTC.
Yo, honestly you have the best fucking stories and give us interesting facts +1!!!

Have you thought about doing a Bitcoin funfact series?
Wow this could be not bad! I will have to think of that :)
Is there anyone else that would be interested in tuning into it if he started the series?
Absolutly! That would be great to see and follow!
I would for sure!
@majorleaguemarc That's a good idea. @kingscrown definitely think about it. I would tune in (Follow) ;)
A friend of mine claims to have mined over 50 btc in the early days. Unfortunately he got hacked, so I regularly send him price updates.
What a great friend ;) lol
LOL you must get hilarious answers from him
Yeah. The past two months he has missed a extra house by the sea. Maybe I should encourage him to restart saving in crypto.
Interesting post. Thanks for posting it. Steem on @kingscrown
Haha funny gif
I am glad you like it ;). It carries the title "Eating the Steem Power-Up Mushroom" .. not too creative I guess :).
This BTC wallet address seems like the weakest link for general use. I am a teacher and deal with people every day. I don't think it would be viable to expect the general population to be meticulous or concentrated enough to even copy/paste the right address. And I believe even any of us can make an odd mistake. We are walking a tight rope every time we send. At least that's how I feel :/
Thats what STEEM/BTS solves but then.. money are stuck to your nickname. Not good walking around with amounts of money you have written on your forehead
Yup. I am worried that some people might learn about my wallet here. It is nothing that special but I'd rather avoid it :/
"All early blocks (before 79764)were all mined to single wallet address"
that scares me
Yeah this means IF Satoshi owns the keys he could collapse the market to pennies
There should be a fork that "destorys" this wallet...
Damn @kingscrown thats really scary! if that happens one day alot of people will be in a bad shape :/ Only starting now in the crypto world so i hope this stays stable for a little while haha!
Thats why you should't invest money you're not willing to lose and split between different coins :)
Yeah thats exactly what i'm going to do! Thats the 101 of financial investment, put each egg in different basket's :D
You shouldn't trust any other coin than Bitcoin for long term investment.
Chances of that person being dead?
Well you never know... thats the problem
Very interesting, some hackers must be searching high and low for it.
Don't think so haha :D Thats not how it works ^^
Some hackers might need to work offline to get their prize online :)
Wise words :) But I am not sure if they are still hackers then ^^
Man if I had a wallet with 2130 bitcoins but couldn't log into it I would cry until I died of dehydration!
Haha, sounds awesome ;) (NOT)
Hahaha, I had 0.5 BTC locked on one of the supplier, I almost had an heart attack, couldn't sleep for 2 nights. 2130 Bitcoins is way beyond of my imaginations. I would be more then happy with 2 BTC at the moment.
BTW, speaking about lost coins, didn't they estimate that there are about a million Bitcoins lost already?
This are just estimates and theres many so i initially added them to post then decided its not solid enough to leave there :)
Feel free to share links that you found
Yeah isn't this a huge problem for bitcoin. I mean if the bitcoins are always lost, it will be so hard for new people to get and hold them. Maybe an application can replace bitcoins that have not been moved for a certain amount of time.
It's up to us to decide how much a Bitcoin should be worth and estimating how much coins are lost will help with that. People have looked into it before, but not enough effort has been put into it and not enough data has been publicly shared in my opinion. But it's only a matter of time before people realize there is less available supply than expected and then the price with naturally increase.
