Buying Coffee isn't the best use case for BitcoinsteemCreated with Sketch.

Some think if Bitcoin isn't widely used for payments, it has failed...

I disagree.

What's more important, buying a cup of coffee or preserving wealth across generations that transcends borders and no government can inflate away?

Payments aren't un-important, they are.

However, the real value for bitcoin is as a store of value that can be used as a means of exchange.

Plus if bitcoin were trying to be used for a cup of coffee it would face more push back from governments than it is already getting.

For bitcoin to actually survive and continue to grow in value, it likely will have to co-exist with fiat payments for the foreseeable future.

There is a world where bitcoin is north of $100k and it isn't widely used to buy a cup of coffee, though it could be used if needed.

In fact, that is probably the most likely world.

Coffee or store of value?

Store of value.

Yep, that is all it should and will ever be, and that is enough.
