The Downside of Bitcoin: Unlike the Dollar, It Doesn't Become More and More Like Monopoly Money w/ Each Passing Second
Who doesn't like a good game of Monopoly? Better yet, who doesn't love the illusion of being rich when holding a huge stash of Monopoly bills? Not this guy. So, it's not really money. True, it's really only worth the cheap paper that it's made on, having absolutely nothing of value to back it, so what?
I can buy Boardwalk with enough of it in my possession. Moreover, I can buy a long line of upscale hotels to place alongside its streets, and, eventually, some idiots will come along with their own stash of monopoly money and shovel it over to me for a room! Then they'll feel poor for having let a few of these thin pieces of paper slip from their fingers into my own. What fools! And, yet, how deliciously satisfied my greed becomes as I fan out this stack of paper, wet with the blood, sweat and tears of these lost wanderers.
Poor bastards! Probably going to lose the game. That's life...actually it's Monopoly, but who's keeping track, anyway?
Now, replace every mention of "monopoly money" with "dollars" and you'll find that it all still holds true, only "Boardwalk" becomes "Hollywood". You can't do that with bitcoin can you? Can you?! I didn't think so.
