Very good post! I can't tell you how sick I am of the elitist attitude our (US) media and pundits take while portraying the "issues" of our time. It is mind-boggling to me that it has become so blatantly biased and one-sided that it is now almost impossible to have a genuine, authentic discussion about ideas. As soon as an issue is raised, one side shouts down the other with absolutely no room for measured debate.
Thankfully, this truly is a platform where ideas can still be talked about, wrangled with, and ultimately agreed upon, discarded, or reshaped in a way that allows both sides to walk away feeling they've been heard and respected.
The culture of polarization our leaders and media arrogantly and selfishly continue to champion is indeed eroding the very fabric of our society; which these self-same leaders are supposed to protect! Their hypocrisy knows no bounds.
Welcome to Steem. As you stated above, this is a place where the free will of the people can be heard, rewarded, and spread to other free thinking people around the world. I'm glad you've decided to come aboard. Right or wrong, agree or disagree, we all need people like you putting out thought-provoking ideas for us all to ponder.

I couldn't agree more. It seems that so many of the once respected institutions have almost turned into European monarch types. Their is all of the sudden such little mobility, almost like we are going back titles bestowed due to family lineage. I am not sure if the establishment has gotten more fat, lazy, arrogant, towards the policies they enact for the rest of us that are subject to the law. Something surely is going to give, or already has given... Thanks a ton for the thought inspiring comment I had to read this twice and make sure this was someone else's thoughts and not my own.
