Realizing inclusive finance globally

Founded in 2013 with its current base in Singapore, Huobi global has established itself as one of the largest exchanges for cryptocurrencies. The value of Huobi Group's accumulative turnover is estimated to be over a trillion U.S. dollars. On October 24th 2018 during the world blockchain summit at Jumeirah Emirates Towers, Mohit Davar took the opportunity as a speaker to launch Huobi MENA of which he is a co-founder. The launch was timely and convenient owing to their decision to set up their regional offices in the city of Dubai. Dubai is on course to becoming the world's pioneer blockchain-Powered Government by 2020. Mohit expressed his excitement to bring the Huobi Blockchain and digital asset ecosystem to the Middle East, North Africa and South Asia, a region commonly referred to as the MENA region.

The region boasts of an approximated 22 countries that are in both the Middle East and North Africa that are important to the global economic stability as they collectively account for 45% world's natural gas reserves and a whopping 60% of the world's oil reserves. MENA is a real untapped goldmine described as the most prosperous with countries such as UAE, Bahrain, Qatar and Kuwait topping the list of countries with high per capita income. Some governments such as Saudi Arabia's and UAE already included blockchain in their development strategies by 2030 thereby encouraging blockchain investments and partnerships in the region. Blockchain companies such as Ripple already have partnerships with several leading banks in the region to tap into its potential.

The launch was shortly followed by an official communication from the Huobi Group. The statement indicated that Huobi MENA intended to build an ecosystem that would be inclusive of OTC trading, token to token exchange, incubation of Blockchain projects, educational center, and community development. The goal at the end is to bring Huobi services that are safe and reliable digital asset trading services for the so positive population of millions that very ready for the technology. OTC trading and token to token exchange is already live using the beta version.

Huobi Mena announced that they are already in partnership with AI Trader who offers artificial intelligence based digital asset trading solutions and made clear their intentions underway to create partnerships with regional players in the blockchain industry in order to improve and offer the regional traders a fast, safe, reliable and convenient trading experience.

Huobi Mena is under the leadership of Mohit Davar and Sultan Bin Kharsham Al Ali, both taking the co-founders and director positions. Mohit Davar is with over 25 years' experience in the industry and is an expert having served in top roles such as CEO of Moneygram, CEO of Travelex, Strategic Advisor for Stellar.org among others. He is currently the chairperson of the International Association of Money transfer and also a member of the ICA in the United Kingdom. "we are very excited to bring the Huobi Blockchain and digital asset ecosystem to the Middle East, Africa, and South Asia. As Dubai is leading the blockchain effort in the region, it made sense for us to set up our Regional Head office here" said Mohit Davar while he introduced Huobi MENA in his speech during the World Blockchain Summit in Dubai.
