OMG BCH FOMO | The Bitcoin Entanglement

in #bitcoin7 years ago

Here we go again: The Marketcap has lost $5 billion, and bitcoin dominance has lost another 1.5% of its dominance. So, it’s going down again today, but it’s a slower descent than yesterday.

It depends what alts your looking at, but let me give you another potential insight. If you're holding a coin for a long time, despite BTCs growth you're missing out on, and you're telling yourself It will all be ok, after the fork my coin is going to the moon! And then post fork it doesn't.. How inclined are you to continue to hold? Payday came and went so maybe this project actually isn't very good? Dump.

Eth back to 300: https://www.reddit.com/r/ethtrader/comments/7bu1iq/as_someone_who_does_was_avoiding_the_btc_shit/ I feel bad, a lot of you probably hold eth. I don’t. I don’t expect moons. To me fomo is far more relevant to price than fundamentals. Fundamentals of Ethereum are quite solid, but the fomo isn’t there imo.

Let me discuss the elephant in the room, BCH. For me it’s not about Satoshi’s Vision, it’s not because SegWit is awful, and it’s not about block sizes. It’s about preserving the effectiveness of the ASIC exploit that the team behind BCH want so desperately to preserve and how it benefits them astronomically if they can. I have good reason to feel these pumps are caused by people like Jihan Wu, like Roger Ver, who can easily buy their own BCH off of themselves using the mountains of BTC and BCH they no doubt have. I feel if the market was left to decide the price of BCH without their interference, it would be a lot less valuable than it is now. I am aware of all the implications, and I am not worried. If you want faster and cheaper transactions, how about Ethereum?

The volatility of Bitcoin is in caused part because people withdraw their buy orders expecting it to get lower, hence it falls even faster. As soon as enough support is shown, then it bounces up again. We’ve seen it time and again. Not worried.

Just another crypto currency? https://minexcoin.com/ Yes, but it’s trying a lot harder than we’re used to seeing these days. This one allows you to store digital assets online., has their own wallet, their own exchange apparently, and you can lock up your coins for 70% interest per annum apparently.

Upcoming convention: https://twitter.com/omise_go/status/928779756924911616 People love to speculate on these, I’ve seen it time and again. Not financial advice. That coin’s pump before these conferences, and dump the day of the conference. Unless of course the day’s news is extremely good.
But, I’m much more cut throat now with coins. https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/omisego/ OMG has a $734 million-dollar market cap. There’s definitely potential here for 10-20-30% gains here, but the risk is high.

Big Bang Theory, https://www.reddit.com/r/Bitcoin/comments/7btfh7/sitcom_the_big_bang_theory_will_dedicate_a_full/ Millions of people will be potentially introduced to bitcoin for the first time. Hopefully they paint it in a good light. Kinda hard not to I guess.

I'm a believer in classic BTC. I sold my BCH today...a bit too soon though. I didn't think it was gonna pop like it did. Oh well...profits are profits. I rolled the money into Lisk. I'm hoping for a big December for Lisk. The alts need some love again.
