How I learnt about Cryptocurrencies (Bitcoin, Ethereum, DASH)
One question that I have been asked a lot is how I got into cryptocurrencies. The journey started almost 5 years ago in 2012, and it's a story full of crazy adventure - full of successes and missteps.

I first heard about Bitcoin about 5 years ago and wanted to get involved but there was just too much computer jargon and was very technical at the time. I never gave up on it but it was only until last year that I really got involved with crypto-currencies. Even now not many people are aware of the crypto-space so our early exploits will hopefully build generational wealth.
Great story! I got into Bitcoin mining back in 2014 with a cheap $25 ASIC miner from eBay which netted 366 MH/s and like $0.25 per day. Literally after a few months the difficulty grew so high that it made less than a cent per day. Sold it to a friend as a USB hand-warmer lmao
Lol, I'm actually going to be purchasing some of the new asus dedicated mining gpus to mine altcoins. Are you still mining?
Yeah with my GTX 750 Ti, but I don't have any plans for investing in GPUs. While they do have a mining ROI in like 3 months, the thing with people advertising cryptocurrency mining with GPUs is that suddenly masses of people start ordering GPUs, which takes the stock away from people who actually want to use them for gaming, etc.
i think i ordered an asic from butterfly labs and it never arrived...

I got into cryptocurrencies last year only. My first crypto was monero, I mine it with my gaming desktop which gave me .150 last year for a day! Now I only get .04000 a day...
That sucks, Im buying 6 of the new asus dedicated mining gpus soon. Can't wait to see what that gives me!
I didn't really look into cryptos until June of this year. Pretty late. Experienced the significant drop and recent recovery. Started to have better read in this new world. I also tried to talk this with my friends, but sounds like most of them just thought I am crazy. :)

My friends think I'm crazy as well, just give it a couple of years and then they will eventually come to the realization

My beginning was an odd one. I bought right before I was in the hospital. It was wonderful being in the hospital and seeing I made money. Then the trouble began. It was the Mt Gox hack and I kept trying to but as it dropped.
It is never fun to start in the hole but I have a bitcoin mentor that I trust and he has guided me to a nice profit over the years.
I call him my Bitcoin mentor, he was a real estate client of mine and I taught him about real estate and he shared with me his thoughts on Bitcoin. I was too stubborn so I bought in much later but he got in very early.
He is someone I trust and respect so he has given me advice that I've taken many times.
He has always stressed the basics. Own the best coin. Never hold on exchanges longer than you have to. Be very secure with your offline wallet. Holding wins in the long term.
