RE: A Brief History of Blockchain (Investor's perspective)- Worth the Read!

in #bitcoin7 years ago

Thanks @ashr I also read through the whole 14 page blog. Based on his assumption that most money is to be made by investing into cryptos which focus on the protocol vs the application side, are most of your investments also on the protocol side? Do you agree with that assessment?
Mine are leaning towards there, I have a bunch of Stratis, district0x, NEO and EOS. Any other favourites of yours?

I think that there is money to be made on both sides but that the protocol side has longevity. Revolutionary tech is protocol based, not app based. For example, electricity could be considered a revolutionary protocol, while an incandescent lightbulb is an app, as is a flourescent lightbulb, a toaster, a refrigerator, etc. Electricity as a protocol is still useful without any of these items individually, while they are worthless without electricity. In the same way, without innovative protocol, apps may solve a problem but aren't truly innovative long term.
