KuCoin Birthday Celebrations (49 BTC in prizes)

Everyone loves a birthday celebration, and what can be better than a birthday celebration where the birthday child is throwing around free crypto in prizes! In this case, KuCoin (which is one of the bigger and more trusted exchanges) is giving away 47 BTC in prizes for a variety of games!

Even if you aren’t interested in this round of celebration games, KuCoin often runs contests which are quite easy to participate in, who knows, maybe you win crypto, or sometimes the prize is a Sports Car! It’s worth checking in occasionally, even if it isn’t your primary alt-coin exchange!

Note, that collection of prizes usually requires you to pass the KYC/AML procedure. Mine was (from memory) approved in a day, but I guess everyone will have different time lengths. Also, some of the contests require you to hold 6 KCS (the exchange token), however, that is a token that also has passive income, so it is nice to have some of these anyway!

Guess the Price (19 BTC)

Just like so many of the crypto contests here on Steem, KuCoin is also running a price guessing contest for the price of BTC. However, the prize pool is much much greater (on the other hand, so is the competition!). Until the 23rd of September, the is a prize pool of 3 BTC per day (2 BTC for the first place, and 1 BTC for second) for the closest guesses.

Twitter Campaign (2 BTC)

Until the 24th of September, KuCoin is offering a 2 BTC total bounty for retweeting a tweet about a new listing of the BUMO (BU) altcoin. It’s a pretty simple task, for a little bit of a reward!

Airdrop (CRPT)

Everyone loves an airdrop, and KuCoin is offering a 265,000 CRPT for holders holders of a minimum of 6KCS and 15CRPT on the exchange between 24th of September and 1st of October. Easy one to do, I just have to remember to stop selling CRPT for the trading contest!

Trading Prizes (28 BTC)

Often, KuCoin will offer trading prizes (buying and selling) on new listings. If you place in the top 500 places of total trading in the time period indicated then you are eligible for a bonus payout in BTC and the newly listed token. For their birthday celebrations, there are 4 running top lists in 4 newly listed coins.

Just as a word of warning, a newly listed coin will be hyper volatile (even in the crypto world!) and it is likely to drop quite heavily in value in the first day or so of listing whilst the market finds an equitable price. However, for some of these lists, it appears that a purchase of about a euro (at the time of this writing) will put you in the top 500 list! However, again another word of warning, these may not be tokens that you will want after the end of the contest, so make sure you are playing to break even on the trading (aiming to cover the 0.1% trading fee or a little bit more and not playing to make a large trading profit), and playing incredibly safe, ensuring that you can always SELL the tokens soon after buying.

Even still, the payout can often be better than the amount that you play around with, and will also likely cover the fees. Also, unless you have lots of BTC to splash around and time to spare, you are only going to be aiming for the 250-500 bracket and not risking more!

The trading pairs that are eligible for this competition on the KuCoin exchange are:

BU/BTC (BUMO, until 24th September) trading at around 0.18 USD
TRX/BTC (Tron, until 25th September) trading at around 0.02 USD
EDN/BTC (Eden, until 26th September) trading at around 0.04 USD
CRPT/BTC (Crypterium , until 1st of October) trading at around 0.35 USD

Enjoy and trade responsibly!

Keep Your Crypto Holdings Safe with Ledger

Ledger is one of the leading providers of hardware wallets with theLedger Nano S being one of the most popular choices for protecting your crypto currencies. Leaving your holdings on a crypto exchange means that you don’t actually own the digital assets, instead you are given an IOU that may or may not be honoured when you call upon it. Software and web based wallets have their weakness in your own personal online security, with your private keys being vulnerable in transit or whilst being stored upon your computer. Paper wallets are incredibly tiresome and still vulnerable to digital attacks (in transit) and are also open to real world attacks (theft/photography).

Supporting a wide range of top tokens and coins, the Ledger hardware wallet ensures that your private keys are secure and not exposed to either real world or digital actors. Finding a happy medium of security and usability, Ledger is the leading company in providing safe and secure access to your tokenised future!

I guess it's about time I go and check out the site. You've just given me more than enough reasons to take the time and finally do it :0)

Ha, Yes. It isn't my main exchange but it does run these contests often enough and there are find here that are not elsewhere,....

I still haven't found the time. I'm going to set an alarm so I remember to drop everything and take a look tomorrow afternoon:0)

The Twitter one and the guess the btc price are easy one. The trading ones, not sure how much of a head start everyone else has had. Although, the last one hasn't started yet!

I didn't know they supported Ledger.

thanks for the info.

They don't (well not directly), that is a blurb for affiliate linking from me!

Oh. OK. Thanks.

This post reminded me of the wrong trade I ever made. I quite liked kucoin and bought 5000 shares at 55 cent. I waited w few weeks and the price went to 60 cent . I sold at 69 cent. A couple of weeks later it was €14. 😭😭😭😭. Still like it as an exchange though. Has all the good quirky alts on it. Must check if my KYC is in . Thanks #steemitbloggers

Still a better trade than me buying at 18$ and still holding :D

Il call your trade and raise you once again. I then bought COSS

Ouch! 2.53 to 0.07 if you bought at the peak :) I guess you won that battle :D

Ouch! Well... at least you made a profit!

Kucoin is a pretty funny place, so many alts that I've never heard of! And the contests give it such a gaming feel... I do miss some of the trading tools from Polo though, even Binance misses some of them as well.

Thanks for the pointes to all the contests.

No problem! Nice to share the word!

That's how I feel every time I see a new coin mentioned XD

Ha ha, Yes! I have no interest in the new listings (except TRX, which I already hold). But they are only for this contest, which is why I mention being able to get rid of them afterwards!

Congratulations! This post has been chosen as one of the daily Whistle Stops for The STEEM Engine!

You can see your post's place along the track here: The Daily Whistle Stops, Issue 263 (9/21/18)

Thank you for the support!

Didn't know about this coin, thanks for sharing all the things they are offering, so cool!

Not a coin, an exchange!

Pardon my silliness, I'm a noob in this blockchain thingy...

No problem, when I first arrived on Steem, I thought everyone was a crypto nut, but I was pleasantly surprised. After all, that is the only way to get mass adoption!

Must be very disappointing for you to find out half of us are noobs!

Ha ha, only half! That's much better than the general population!

thanks for the information! Sounds like some pretty good prices there!

No problem! Yes, the prizes are pretty nice!

I like the look of some of those but I just tried to sign up and it is forcing me to install Google authenticator but I am on a Mac and it's only available on phones. So I am stuck. :-(

No smartphone? I will check, but I'm not sure if there is a desktop app, well, not without an emulator!

It is possible, but having a 2fa authentication on your computer is pretty much defeating the security of having it!
