My opinion is that the reason of the steem price drop is the exact the same reason that bitcoin price raised, people are moving investment to bitcoin I think Temporary
Pyramid Scheme?? How such stupid guys get hired in such positions, Pyramid Scheme my a**.
if it was a pyramid scheme at least it should be centralized, before going into technical and financial correct analyzes.

I saw a few posts in which people appeared disapointed with ethereum price performance at the time of the Byzantium fork! Suggestions that alts such ethereum and steem price declines due to bitcoin popularity seem reasonable and tend to agree analysis on that front is more productive than ill informed claims of pyramid schemes. Intrestingly metcalfe law was also used as measure for bitcoin block size increases in relation to bandwidth and storage capacity increases. Will be intresting to see what unfolds in 2018.

The aspect with the Metcalfe law is very interesting. Maybe it can help to bring a bit more clarity into the market since it hasn't any fundamentals (yet). It would also be interesting if other statistical mass effect laws apply.
On the price of steem, I have found an interesting article by @eyeonsky who is a forex trader and says that someone tries to manipulate the price ratio between SBD and steem. If that is correct it could be standing in connection with the DDoS attacks on steemit (=be something criminal) or it could be that the steemit developers try to stabilize the price at around 1$ to 1€ to avoid crashes like the one from 7$ to 20 cents. But that's of course just speculation.

Hi Alex, amusing episode, funny that just a few years ago Blythe Masters and her banking friends set about taking the blockchain out of bitcoin and spinning it as the technology that would transforn the financial services world. Today, Hyperledger is an open source collaberation of corporations and every fund manager and his friends a bitcoin bull.
