Eastern Wood PeWee
Hello Steemians
The eastern pewee is found in South Eastern Canada,
Eastern U.S. and as far south as Bolivia.
It usually catches small flying insects and occasionally
eats berries, blueberries, raspberries, dogwood.
Like most flycatchers, they are very rarely seen at....
backyard feeders.
I love this photograph. I can't explain it, it's just perfect.
I love it when the EAPH shows up in the northeastern U.S. when I visit Maine to visit family as early as March! They are a harbinger of spring with their exuberent Phe-oh--bee call and their tail wagging. Is it late for them now? I suspect most must have gone south by now?
I have seen very few of them, and yes, never this late in the year.
I have never seen any as early as March here.
Hey, thank you! I have a shrub that is a native species and produces berries. A bunch of these were crawlingly over it. If it weren't close to the window, I never would have seen them, cute little guys.
