That experiment showed that simple molecules could assemble into more complex ones correct? Like simple building blocks were sufficient to lead to the formation of nucleotides, amino acids etc...

I don't think the RNA world hypothesis is at odds with that, since a ribozyme is a more simple machine than a protein.
