What Does the Bible Say About the Shape of the Earth? Part 4
This time, the subject of examination is a collection of verses which indirectly imply flat earth cosmology. So as not to waste time arguing with newcomers to this series, in part 3 the most common apologetic (The verse in Isaiah about the "circle of the Earth") is rebutted; Proverbs 2:27 makes it clear that the circle in question is a flat shape, as it says it was drawn upon the face of the deep with a compass.)
Hopefully I won't run into too many more Christians stumbling across this series and copy+pasting that apologetic in the comments section without having first read the article. But that's also a dead horse I have lost interest in beating, so to speak.
Now we will instead examine verses other the ones most often discussed when this topic is brought up. Verses which supply ancillary support for the contention that the authors of the Torah believed in ancient Hebrew cosmology, which included a flat Earth covered by a dome:

I don't consider myself one, but I did have an extensive private Christian education when I was younger. I regret it because much of what they taught me is nonsense, but it opened my eyes to a problem in the world which needs solving.

If I tell you that "they" want you to fall for the false choice of 2+2=4 or 2+2=6 when the truth is in between, (2+2=5) does that logically follow? If I say "they" want you to believe the sky is blue, does it make the sky green? Not everything is a conspiracy.
A really optimistic part of me wants to believe that the flat earth movement isn't just crazed conspiracy nuts, so much as a rejection of blindly accepting facts proscribed from authority and governmental bodies. Kinda like they're the people who rejected the church during the reign of Henry VIII.
But then I see the youtube rap videos and realise that my optimism is misplaced and they are just champions of blind faith in worthless causes.
That's part of their narrative, and how they appeal to non-crazy people for sure. Like how "academic freedom" to "teach both sides" is how creationists appeal to non-creationists.

Though the Bible is not a science book, when it touches on scientific matters it is either completely accurate or non-contradictory, and often demonstrates remarkable fore-knowledge. There are many scientific facts mentioned in the Bible that were not understood by man until centuries after the Bible was written. Following are a few examples of the overwhelming scientific evidence for the Bible:
The Earth and Space
God-CreationThe earth’s shape is perhaps the most important to deal with first since many critics claim that the Bible portrays the earth as flat. This couldn’t be farther from the truth and in my opinion is one of the most vaporous arguments used by skeptics against the Bible. There is not a single passage that plainly states that the earth is flat1. The groundswell of this criticism gets its roots from the inaccurate but common belief among many that the ancients on up through the middle ages believed that the earth was flat. The truth is, virtually all learned people have known for the last 2500 years that the earth is spherical [please see footnote 2].
Before the learned ancients surmised that the earth was spherical, the divinely inspired Isaiah wrote “It is He who sits above the circle of the earth…(Isaiah 40:22)”. In addition, from the Book of Job we have “He stretches out the north over empty space; he hangs the earth on nothing (Job 26:7)”. It should be noted that just last century scientists believed space consisted of a hypothetical substance called Ether (not the chemical), which was the medium between the celestial bodies. Also, the pagans of that time believed in such things as a mythical Atlas character who supported the pillars that held heaven and earth apart, and later carried the earth around on his shoulders. Another interesting tidbit that illuminates the divine nature of Job 26:7 is the recent discovery of a huge hole in space in the direction of the northern hemisphere3.
Vast number of stars in the Universe
God said to Abraham ‘Look now toward heaven, and count the stars if you are able to number them.’ And He said to him, ‘So shall your descendants be.'(Gen 15:5)”. And through the prophet Jeremiah,‘As the host of heaven (stars) cannot be numbered, nor the sand of the sea measured, so will I multiply the descendants of David My servant (Jeremiah 33:22). And finally, in the New Testament“Therefore from one man, …were born as many as the stars of the sky in multitude– innumerable as the sand which is by the
seashore. (Hebrews 11:12)”
Before the invention of the telescope in 1608, scientists throughout history, including the famous astronomer Ptolemy (150 AD), taught that the total number of stars in the heavens was under 3000. On a clear night the naked eye can only count about 1000 stars. However, because of telescopes such as the Hubble, we now know there are countless billions upon billions of stars in the universe – just as God had revealed to us several thousand years ago through the Bible.
Precise dimensions of Noah’s Ark
The dimensions of Noah’s Ark as described in the Bible are ideal for stability. In fact, South Korean architects who examined the dimensions found that the boat was virtually impossible to capsize! Their modeling and analysis found that the ark could survive waves higher than 30 meters! (note that a typical tsunami is only 10 meters high) 7. Many other cultures have flood legends similar to the account in the Bible, but their ark descriptions were never palatable. For example, the Babylonian Gilgamesh Flood legend described an ark that was shaped like a cube, which would be disastrous for stability. 8
No I didn't. The video is explicit about the relevant verses, and I've discussed many of them in prior articles in this series. You have once again copied and pasted from a Christian apologetics website, the only kind of source that will ever disagree with what all historians agree the ancient Hebrews believed, concerning the shape of the Earth.
Your favorite apologetics site also apparently holds that the Noah's Ark story really happened. Is that what you believe?
The arguments listed here are ones I already addressed in part 2. If you plan to just regurgitate to me over and over arguments I have already addressed, I do not foresee continued discussion between us being productive.

In those times it was believed that the earth was flat, and today there are those who still discuss it and even lectures.
Your past 3 part was really informational like part 4 and i hope your part 5 will be great like previous part.
