महात्मा सगरामदासजी के पास एक हाकिम न गुरु भक्ति धारण
की लेकिन हाकिम बिना भले बुरे को देखे ही जनता से बहुत दण्ड
लेता और बहुत सताता था। तब गरीब किसान लोग गुरुदेव के पास
आकर बोले कि गुरुदेव आपका चेला हाकिम हमको बहुत सताता है,
बिना विचारे ही हमसे दण्ड भराते रहते है, आप कृपा कर समझा देंगे
तो हम लोग सुखी हो जायेंगे ।
गुरुदेव ने कहा कि मैं अवश्य कह डंगा तुम जाओ। किसान
चले गये दूसरे दिन हाकिम ऊँट पर दो-चार नौकरों सहित गुरुदेव के
पास आया। हाथ जोड़कर बोला कि आपके दर्शन से मैं पावन हुआ।
रामायण में लिखा है कि- दांपर्श अरू मंजन पाना हरे पाप कहे वेद
पुराना ।’ गुरुदेव ने कहा कि सुनो पाप कर्म भोगे बिना नहीं छूटते
हैं खुद के छोड़ने से ही छुटते है । कहे दास सगराम हाकम अन्धा मत
हो यार, औरों के चाहिए आंखेंदो तेरे चाहिए चार ।” तुम को सत्ता
दी है गरीबों की सुव्यवस्था हेतु । सत्ता, सताने के लिए नहीं हैं।
