@peerplays

Jonathon Bahai of Peerplays. Last week, they announced their new Peerplays website where anyone can join to see the latest updates on the Peerplays project. This week Jonathon is happy to announce that new additions have been made since the launch of the new site. He urges everyone to visit the site and see the new impovements and additions.

He also brings the following updates:

• Peerplays vs eth markets now open on bitshares dex
• Michael is unable to attend hangouts because he is traveling the world! He is currently working with partners in Hongkong and solidify some of the partnerships in the Eastern markets.
• They are preparing for next round of ICO
• There are No updates on testnet this week because many elements of game are ready to be pushed out, but not yet all of them. If testnet was updated this week, people would know the game but would be unable to play it. Maybe next week or the week after!
• Peerplays currently has another group of devs working on the wallet for trading within the peerplays network. Look for more updates on this in the coming weeks.
• Teeka Tiwari --- Fox Business, Daily Show, Nightline, CNBC, Palm Beach Newsletter---contacted regarding peerplays for their 180,000 subscribers. It was a 1 hour interview.
  -This week is a record for unique owners holding peerplays!
  -Data answers a question from faddat about the extensibility of Peerplays (being able to extend its functionalities out into other projects).
  -Further discussion of how on and off-chain games differ in addition to their implementations as planned with peerplays.

@cm-steem reminds everyone of the weekly Gridcoin (GRC) hangouts every Saturday at 9pm UCT in the BeyondBitcoin Server. Attending these hangouts will soon reward you with GRC Tokens!

Announces two new upcoming BOINC team challenges. In these challenges, teams of BOINC users get together to compete with other BOINC users on which groups can contribute the most computational resources to each project. The two projects that will be beneficiaries of this event are VGTU and SRBase -- the two newly whitelisted BOINC projects covered in our past hangouts. Following these two new BOINC Challenges, there will be two more challenges for other projects. One is for SkyNet Pogs and the World Community Grid.

@cm-steem gives updates on the following recent polls:

• How much GRC should be allocated to the weekly GRC hangouts for distribution?
• Should the GRC network sponsor the planned BOINC Workshop in 2017?.

Further, @cm-steem mentions the recent fork and mandatory upgrade requirements coming down the pipeline. He also asks the community to consider supporting PC's BitShares MPA BSIP.

• eSteem now supports Blockpay payments so you can do test payments in upcoming SteemFest.
• Profile page design and functionality improvements.
• Image handling - as you may know, posts rely on image servers, once it is inaccessible or service/server is down post literally doesn't show images, caching also has limits at some point.
• Markdown parsing improved
• login/logout caching fix
• Performance improved drastically

He further discusses the mobile application he has made for SteemFest attendees--with the help of @cass and @roelandp. This app offers:

• 3 tabs for each day's scheduled events
• Autoscroll to events at current time (w/ manual control as well)
• Offline Map with special locations to be visited when in Amsterdam

@virtualgrowth talks a little bit about his and @sykochicas steemprentice initiative and their growing community.

Steemit game night will be working with steemsports where sports betting and e-sports (competitive gaming) join forces! Using these two initiatives creates a means of distributing steempower to people who participate in sports betting on Steem!

Next, @virtualgrowth discusses with fuzzy how steembets is dealing with the recent decision to begin paying out liquid steem when maximum threshold of SBD held is reached. Their solution? Distribute Steempower! Apparently this can be done using advanced features in steem!

"We have been very busy the past couple weeks." ~@Chris4210

@Chris4210 new ver 1.06 primarily gui and user experience fixes.
They are making the settings screen easier to use. Of specific note is the new interface for settings to make onboarding as easy as possible. They plan to expand ease of use by enabling people to "Start accepting digital currencies in minutes."
@kencode currently has built a team to do precisely this. Updates on this coming in the future.
@kencode is making progress on use of Interplanetary File System (IPFS) with a team of ten developers doing just that. The plan is to integrate and use it to store the open source libraries for blockpay on IPFS so it is resilient and will survive even the unfortunate situation wherein the devs and even @chris4210 falls victim to a zombie attack.
If this happens, we will be assured the party will go on (though we will likely need to hole up in cave and mountain fortresses.

Native Bitcoin, Dash, Steem, Ethereum integration to BlockPay are coming soon. hint from the writer--this means other chains are possible candidates for native support.
@Chris4210 helps people understand the differences between BlockPay and Jaxx. Further discussion into BrainKey technology that is offered by graphene tech that enables similar functionalities to Jaxx for BlockPay.

BitShares Munich will be holding another event in Munich this coming March/April with Cointelegraph. They are going to be inviting over 500 people from top blockchain based startups and partnering with Microsoft, IBM, Deloitte and other blockchain companies.

SteemFest is going on next week. @ned and @thedollarvigilante will be there, among many others on steem. BitShares Munich is putting up BlockPay Stations in the hotel and in the bars so you can use the tokens of your choosing to purchase your room or drinks. They are working with @good-karma on the esteem application so now you can scan a blockpay barcode and with the speech activated within 10 seconds with your steem.

We also talk a little bit about the BitShares ecosystem ending its inflation increase from the merger of other DACs only months after bitshares 1.0 was launched. And much more.

They are also looking for Java programmers! So reach out if you want to get paid in Bitcoin for Dev work!
