Timorese little girl - Before she smiled...
Hi, all!
This is my entry to the Friday #portraitphotography by @photocontests and @juliank :))
In this photo, she was still shy... On my next one, she will show her beautiful smile!
Happy Friday! Steem on!

Hi, I’m sorry to hijack your post but I will do this only once and it’s just to tell that you have been selected for my brand-new directory. As not everybody is checking out mentions, I think this is the best way to make you aware of it.
You can read more about this new initiative here and I would greatly appreciate your feedback about this concept.
If you think it has some added value it would be great if you could resteem the post to make more people aware of it.
Also, if you don’t want to be mentioned on the directory, just leave me a comment and I will delete your profile from the website.
Thank you very much for reading!
It's no hijacking at all! Thanks for featuring me and letting me know, as my mentions feature is not working... I've seen your post, thanks, upped and resteemed!
Such a cute and lovely face! She's gonna be a heart-breaker!
It is, isn't it? She was so timid... but the last photos I took of her she was already smiling :))).
Sorry for no comments on your photos, but my Internet today doesn't even open them... :(((
Next week I'll have true Internet again... yupeee!
What a beautiful girl, if the truth seems a bit shy :
She was... at the beginning... Then she started to smile! Will post one of her smiling one of these days!
Thanks, my dear Pix!
This is the one great thing about Steemit. I am learning of places I had never heard of before - I just looked up Timor - never heard of it or the little islands around it. Is this where you live as well or is it a visit?
I'm living here for a while. But I'm longing home already... let's see what comes next... Timor was the first independent nation of century 21. It was a former Portuguese colony, and when they got independent in 1975 they were invaded and occupied by Indonesia until 1999, when they left. In 2002 they got their definitive independence. It's a developing country, with many needs, and the fortune and the curse of having oil. It's an oil-based economy, with the problems of others alike. But slowly they will find their path. I'm here for a while for professional capacitation purposes of some of the country's staff.
PS: the post I said in my last reply to you I will make is about this girl :)))))
Thanks for the background info on this tiny island country It's amazing that there are still developing countries around the world. It's hard for me to imagine when I live in a first world country.
I do remember the little girl from your last photo and I looked for her smile - I remembered her. ::)
So sweet of you saying that! I decided to make a small essay about her...
and, yes, it's difficult to imagine how people here live... let me tell you that, witnessing "this" world made me a different person for the rest of my life... Now I value things I wouldn't value if I kept living in my country, also a first world country!
