The Little Edinburgh Project

This is Little Edinburgh, it is a series of shots I have taken around the city of Edinburgh in Scotland over the years. It is called Little Edinburgh because the focus of the project is to take photos in a way as to show the city in miniature using the tilt-shift effect. Edinburgh is an international cosmopolitan city but still somehow has a small town feel to it. I cannot walk down the street without recognising someone I know. So with that in mind it felt appropriate to create a vision of Edinburgh that makes it look very small, almost like a toy town.

This is the final entry in the Little Edinburgh Project.. for now. This is the last image I have taken, though I plan to have more done as I have so far only covered a small area of the city. There are a few other places I want to get to and document in the tilt shift style. Unfortunately you need a particular angle and vantage point for a good tilt shift which I may not have access too unless I used a drone.. and though I have one, the restrictions on drones has become so tough in this country (UK) that you cannot fly one in the city.

This is the Calton Road Entrance to Waverley Station. It is the central train station in the city (they filmed Infinity War in this station - the green screen was right by this particular entrance). London is a mere 4.5hrs direct on a train from here. This particular image takes me back to my university days. There used to be a night club right across the street from this entrance, where I once went to see DJ Cash Money who were great. Love that 80s hiphop. Lots of breakdancing was had and I even had the opportunity to hang out with the DJs backstage drinking. Though I think that was only because they were interested in the girls I was with. I also remember sitting on that wall by the station at 6am as I waited for my friends to make their way out of the club at closing. Ah.. to be young again!
