Navagio or Shipwreck beach - Zakynthos
When we came beach was overcrowded. Big boats were bringing hundreds of tourists to spend half an hour on this spectacular location.
From far away it seemed like zombie apocalypse with approximately 200-300 tourists standing on the sand as there was no space for them to lie down and enjoy sunbath. This shot was taken at a later time, when majority of them were gone. Still, the place is magic and worth to visit, just it proves how effective good advertising can be.
As the story tells the boat itself was cast ashore during the storm in 1980's and allegedly it was carrying contraband cigarettes. Since then ship was lying down there until recently it became a point of major attraction.
We have stayed there anchored for the night in our yacht, being the only ones in the bay in contrast to overcrowded day time rush. But more about it in my blog that i'll be putting later.
