I like that idea. Kind of boils down the essence of the scene and the people/situation that make it what it is. The real building blocks, not 'tainted' by the other, frivolous or second-tier visuals. Well said and so true. With just the contrast of light and form to view we often see what is truly there or go to a place imagined in our heart and soul.
This image, at first glance, made me see birds over a river or body of water and then as I realized they were the cobbles of streets I could hear a street vendor calling out and smell the coffee of a local cafe.
