Fighting the Battles You've Already WonsteemCreated with Sketch.

Do you agree that our childhood experiences determine our destiny? I do and I do not. Our decisions alone draw our destiny. And if we are not aware of the forces that drive us to a certain action or decision, then most likely, the inner child in us is leading the way.

You are not what you think you are. You are a micro-universe that has a hidden wonder. Such wonder is a secret even to yourself that you have to discover if you want to take control. You are possessed by an inner child that seeks expression and resolution through your current experiences. This child is so innocent yet very powerful. This child doesn’t make sense to our cognition but still control our emotions. He or she has to die.

The most important years of our lives are the first 7 or developmental years. It is the time that we act like sponges, absorbing everything that we sense from our environment. We do not have a conscious mind to evaluate rationally. We just take everything that we see, hear, smell and feel as real, until these sensations mark as permanent. And that becomes our truth, our reality and worst, it could be our destiny.

As we grow up and develop a conscious part of our brain, we can start to rationalize outside experiences and determine what’s right and wrong. But as a general rule, we get the value or evaluation of something by comparing it against another. Where do we compare our current experiences? Nowhere else but from our beliefs that stemmed from the sensations that we absorbed during childhood. Therefore, it looks like that we are a product of our past environmental influences.

We’ve seen people who have a personality “bond” - bond with betrayal, violence, ego, selfishness and aggression. Why do they seek betrayal when they have been betrayed in the past? Why do they love violence if they have been a victim of one during early years? It’s because intense emotions, no matter how negative or painful, can program our minds to believe that it’s pleasure. There are also some who bonded with success, happiness and love. What makes these people special? The answer is… early childhood programming.

We are human beings gifted with free will and choice but genetically, our brains are designed just like in a robot. We can be programmed. In fact, as a child, we have no choice but to be programmed in accordance to our environment. We are not forever a child. We won the battle of growing up against time yet we are still fighting these battles that we’ve already won.

So, how do we kill the monster child in us? Forgive yourself and start living like a new child, acting like a sponge in well- chosen stimuli from your ideal environment. Talk to yourself as if you’re a VIP because the most important conversation that you have is the conversation with yourself.

You can choose yourself. Create your destiny. Live free.

Nice post. I really like this post

Thank you @dpakyaw! Your name sounds interesting

There are things that you can't decide for example you are driving your car and somebody just hits you and hurt you very bad ,that is called in my religon "written" and another way when you are wake up early and work hard for something and u get the pay that is the "choice"

Yes, you are absolutely right. When you got hit by something and it literally hurts you, there's no other way but to feel the pain. Human body is designed to feel environmental sensation and extreme sensation leads real or physical pain. But in some kind of pains, we've got a wide array of choices

Interesting ideas here. I hadn't thought about how the first seven years are really kind of a junk drawer of stuff from which I still drag primal responses to things, even if my conscious mind has decided there's a better way to go. I'm going to have to think more about that, and really be careful that I'm behaving the way I wish to, and not the way that's instinctive.

If this is the kind of thing you're going to post, I'll be following.

I'm happy that you liked my post ;) I am already a full blown adult when I learned about this fact and i wanna share it to the world esp to those who are becoming parents. The first 7 years of life is the most critical stage when a child can absorb everything in his or her environment. It's surprising that we are walking computers programmed by childhood experiences. Though, we have will power, it can only stretch enough until it's tired and decides to go back to it's original programming. But there is always a way to change. Will be posting that soon

I'll be looking forward to that post.

Hey there @kathleenapostol! I just upvoted you and also sent you a tip. Have a great day/night! :]

@steemitlotteries Thanks! I also followed you ;)
