BeerSaturday: Pennington Pride - Porter
I have been writing a number of beer posts, on beers I have tested while on vacation during the Easter Holidays - this will be my last one!! The Beer I tested was again from the Basset Brewery in Pennington which was only a few kilo's from where we stayed!! The beer was named Pennington Pride and is an English Porter!!
This particular beer poured with a large fluffy head and was pich black in color!!
The beer came in a nice 440ml bottle and had an alcohol content of 4.5%, and as you can see from the condensation on the bottle it was ICE COLD!!
As you can see on the label, the beer has a smokey flavor with hints of coffee and chocolate on the pallet. This beer is bottle conditioned and comes with some pouring instructions.
Below you can see my brother and I having a good time sharing a few beers!! I loved the Pennington Pride, it just was perfect!!
This however almost ended in disaster, as we were sitting on this small wooden fence on the edge of the embankment. The fence gave way under us, when my brother's son joined us on the fence, with the result that we ended up on our backs on a rather steep downhill!! Luckily none of us was hurt!! There was however some nettles growing in-between the grass leaving us with some itching and burning skin!!
After a lot of laughter we could continue with a nice braai.
