Beer, Braai and the New Year
IMG_4778.jpg
My daughter, gave me this gift-pack of beer for Christmas, she just know how to make her dad's day. So one week later on New Year's Eve, we had some friends and family over for a nice big braai!! What better way to go into the new year than to test my Christmas Present, while socializing with fiends and family!! In the photo below you can see the gift-pack that consisted of two beers and a beer glass.

As you can see on the photo, at the top of this post, we had a hot fire going for the braai and all this heat made me really thirsty!! I decided to go for the Beardo IPA first. Both the beers are brewed by Robinsons Brewery in the UK.

I loved the graphics on the Beardo bottle!!

The beer comes in a 330ml bottle and sports a 6% alcohol content.

The beer poured nicely, with a beautiful amber color and a great white head. I think father Christmas would like it if his beard could look like that head.

The beer looked great in the glass, and even tasted better in my mouth!! This beer I can drink any time, this was a great beer.

Next up was the Mojo Pale Ale!!
IMG_4767.jpg
The label looks completely different than the Beardo's. I prefer the Beardo label, but this one is also nice.
IMG_4769.jpg
The Mojo also came in a 330ml bottle, but had 5.5% alcohol.
IMG_4771.jpg
The Mojo also poured with a nice head, albeit a bit smaller than the Beardo. The color was more yellowish!! This beer also looked good and tasted ok, but was a bit on the watery side for me, I preferred the Beardo to the Mojo

After testing the beers, the fire was ready and we could braai the meat. We had a variety of meat and had to braai in two sessions to get everything cooked.

Below you can see us eating, my wife set the table on the outside, and we had a great evening socializing as family and friends, waiting for the new year to arrive!!

At midnight we shot the cork from a nice bottle of bubbly and toasted on the new year!! Great!!

I took these photos with my iPhone,at my home, in Pretoria, in the Gauteng Province of South Africa.

I hope you enjoyed the photos as much as I did taking it.

Thank you so much, I loved the beardo beer!!

Awesome!
Two great looking beers and an even better looking grill!

Cheers

Yes, it was great!!

If you think beer is solely reserved for those balmy summer days next to the braai, think again. As the autumn chill starts to grip the air, there’s no need to loosen your grip on your beer.

You are right, we won't slow down!!

Again awesome beer post by @rynow
Cheers~~~

Thank you so much!

That is so good for you...
Enjoy @rynow

Thank you.

These pictures is clear! I do like this bear . Thanks for posting >>> @rynow

Thank you so much.

Very nice photos & post @rynow, love those labels! My son is very much into craft beer, produces his own on tap beer. He holds brew days with his friends, quite a sociable but also serious event. They are very knowledgeable on the qualities a good beer should have and pull up their noses at the SAB brands, could call them beer snobs :)
We love visiting craft breweries, hubby enjoys a good ale, nice seeing so many micro breweries springing up all over SA :)

Yes, it is great, does your son, sell his beer, and if he does where?

It looks as though you had a fantastic time, there is nothing better than a braai fire, good beer and interesting conversation, my family came all the way from New Zealand, having them all together for the first time in ten years was a blessing.

That must have been great!! It is always nice to spend time with family.

For real that beardo beer has the coolest bottle ever. That already is a collectors item. And braai, lekker braaien!!! Mjam!!!
What kind of temperatures do you guys have at the moment during summer there?

Today was very hot in Pretoria at over 30 degrees Celsius, and the minimum is around 17 degrees.
The braai was great.

Very beautiful temperatures actually. That it cools off in the night, perfect sleepingtemperatures.. and that you have to wear a sweater during braai-ing
