Beersaturday #102 - enjoying the impossible

My last #beersaturday posts were about two beers from Texel. I could find three of their large collection in the local supermarkets.
But the third has to wait a bit because I found a fourth one - which is pretty astonishing as you will read below - and I would like to write about this one today.

Texels Vuurbaak

The work "vuurbaak" means lighthouse. Again it's a special beer with some highlights.

Let's take a look at the label on the back

Texel's lighthouse is the light beacon during the dark island nights for more than 150 years.
"Texels Vuurbaak" is a tribute to this proud symbol of Texel and only available on the island.

"Texels Vuurbaak" is brewed in the style of an Irish Red Ale.
The roasted barley gives a full red color and a malty taste with notes of almond and caramel. It has a fruity and slightly bitter aftertaste.

Also this Texels beer is brewed with dune water.

I can second all of the above regarding the taste. Simply wonderful.
But one thing is not true. You might guess what I mean when I tell you that I have not been on the island Texel for more than 30 years :)
That's also the reason why I called the post "enjoying the impossible".

I really did enjoy. Again a great tasting beer. Best served a 6 degrees C with 5.5% alc. it's slightly heavier than a standard beer but I regretted that I only bought one ;)

    Yes, I know what is wrong, they say you only get the !BEER on the island of Texel!! Looks great and I love the Irish Red Ales!!
