BeerSaturday Challenge #38. The Tovar Dunkel beer.
Hello dear beer lovers, today we will know the Tovar Dunkel beer which is one of the 5 presentations offered by Cerveceria Tovar, is a Venezuelan craft beer made with the three basic ingredients: water, malted barley and hops. The old brewers did not have the instruments to control the roasting of the grains, they always had an intense toast and the beer was very dark, the Dunkel makes tribute to one of the oldest brewing styles, this beer takes the consumer to those remote times making them enjoy the taste of the first lager beers. Its production process lasts around 21 days. It has 5 degrees of alcohol, Its name "DUNKEL" (dark in German) refers to its characteristic color, highlights the taste of malt. It is recommended to drink it at a temperature of 6 ⁰C.
Cerveceria Tovar has its origin in the Colonia Tovar, which is a small city located in the state of Aragua, Venezuela. The city was founded On April 8, 1843 by immigrants from the state of Baden and Dutch immigrants. The brothers Karolina and Theodor Benitz were the visionaries who initiated the dream of bringing German beer to Venezuelan lands ando elaborated the first beer in Venezuela with the German tradition.
In the following photos you can see the labels of the beer, where certain characteristics of the beer are mentioned, such as its 250ml and 5 degrees of alcohol.
To try these beers I went to my father's house who is also a beer lover, we had not taken this brand of beers so we enjoyed this pair of very cold beers and commented on their flavor and characteristics. It is a slightly bitter beer which is typical of dark beers.
Welcome to beer saturday - and happy drinking
Thanks friend.
