Imperial Doughnut Break - Evil Twin Brewing - Beer Review
Imperial Doughnut Break - Evil Twin Brewing
Beer Review
Imperial Doughnut Break is an 11.5% alcohol/volume Imperial Double Porter made by Evil Twin Brewing at Westbrook Brewing Company in Mount Pleasant, South Carolina. Evil Twin Brewing is a nomadic beer creator from Denmark. Their beers are contracted to be made in over 10 different breweries around the world. The Imperial Doughnut Break was created when Evil Twin's head brewer, Jeppe Jarnit-Bjergsø, stuffed entire donuts into a keg of Imperial Biscotti Break. The result was a strong and sweet and decadent porter that can be enjoyed as dangerous breakfast or a dessert.

The Can
The Imperial Doughnut Break is served in a full pint can. It look similar to the Imperial Mexican Biscotti Cake Break can, but instead of skulls it features doughnuts. The following paragraph is written on the side of the can.
Did the flavors of sugar and bitter sweet almonds and coffee in Imperial Biscotta Break also make you sentimental? – now we topped it off with insane amounts of doughnuts. This all-time American favorite is making it’s way back into the spotlight and we at Evil Twin Brewing are not letting a tasty trend pass us by without taking it to the next level. Drink it with great gusto – Forza Doughnuts.
The Beer
The Imperial Doughnut Break is a rich and delicious dark beer. As you can see in the photo below, it formed a thick head of foam when poured into a glass. It had a sweet aroma and a pleasantly sweet flavor. I could definitely taste the doughnuts in the beer which reminded me of Dunkin' Donuts. It was an interesting take on a porter and thoroughly enjoyed it. I look forward to trying more beers from Evil Twin Brewing in the future.

I love Evil twin beers - not sure I've ever had a bad one. In fact the brewing gene is very strong in that family/twin set.
Looks yummmmmmy! I want to try it now :)
