Beer Review

Honeyspot Road IPA is a 6% American IPA brewed by the Two Roads Brewing Company in Stratford, Connecticut. This small brewer opened in 2012 and quickly has become one of the largest around. Over 60% of the beer that they make is for other craft brewers on a contracting basis. This has been a very successful business practice for them and they continue to grow and expand to new markets across the United States. They even plan to open a new $12 million facility in the coming year. Honeyspot Road IPA is named after a nearby street in Stratford. It has an unfiltered wheat base with a West Coast hop character.

The Bottle

The Honeyspot Road IPA is sold in 12 fluid oz, brown glass bottles. The label is white, light blue and sea green. It features a sketch of the Two Roads brewing facility in Stratford. The neck of the bottle has an old-school Volkswagen bus with that can be found parked outside the brewery. The Two Roads logo is centered on the bottle.

The Beer

Two Roads Brewing Co. is one of the largest craft brewers in my area. I've been drinking their beers for years and I've been able to try a lot of their stuff. The Honeyspot Road IPA is a classic beer from Two Roads. It can be found at many bars and restaurants around town, and just about every beer store. It's an easy drinking, mediocre, light IPA. As you can see in the photo below, it had a bright yellow color when poured into a glass. It is crisp and clean for an unfiltered beer. I look forward to trying more beers from Two Roads Brewing Co. in the future.
