Road Jam - American Pale Wheat Ale - Two Roads Brewing Company

Road Jam is a 5% alc/vol fruit infused American Pale Wheat Ale brewed in Stratford, Connecticut by the Two Roads Brewing Company. This small brewer opened in 2012 and quickly has become one of the largest around. Over 60% of the beer that they make is for other craft brewers on a contracting basis. This has been a very successful business practice for them and they continue to grow and expand to new markets across the United States. They even plan to open a new $12 million facility in the coming year. Road Jam is their seasonal summer ale brewed with fresh berries.

The Pour

Road Jam is red in color and has a fruity aroma due to the fresh blackberries and raspberries used in the brewing process. The flavor makes it a very easy beer to drink. It can almost be classified as a shandy and makes for a great refreshing drink on a hot summer day. The carbonation of the Road Jam provides a subtle crisp sensation that hits the spot like a flavored seltzer would. As you can see in the pictures, the color of the Road Jam is truly something else, it's rare to find such a red beer like this.

Overall I think Road Jam is a great beer, especially for beginning beer drinkers that do not like a full-bodied hoppy brew. It is hard to deny the fruity, tastiness of the Road Jam. Personally I prefer the Two Juicy Double IPA from Two Roads, but then again I don't think there should be any comparison because they are two different beer styles meant for two different types of beer drinkers.
