Named after Jupiter’s moon. iO SAISON is the pinnacle of sour saisons. iO Saison is a sour saison brewed with rose hips, rose petals and hibiscus. At 6.8% ABV and 15 IBUs this 3 month oak aged beauty will tantalize the taste buds with the Cascade & Tettnang hops.

Lets face it. Beer is an art form that excites our senses and stirs our imagination. This truth gave Jolly Pumpkin an idea. They create a limited series of beers by throwing caution to the wind and following their creative muse no matter where it leads.

This is how they discovered Baudelaire Biére. A romantic world, dimly lit by distant memory, yet alive, and inspiring us to pursue beauty at any cost. In the world of Baudelaire, label and beer come together in a character and taste.

Influencing the drinker to take upon the spirit of creativity and thin the veil between life and art. Let the muse guide you.

Sounds delicious! I love Saisons, and they seem to work really well with the subtle (I'm assuming) flavours of herbal adjuncts. This style is by far one of my faves.

This style is growing on me. I’m not a huge saison fan, but this one less so subtle and complex at the same time.

Yeah, like anything, there's good and bad. If they're done well you do get a subtle yet complex flavour profile. And like i said, they seem to work well with many adjuncts, herbal and fruit in particular.

It helps that Jolly Pumpkin may be one of the best breweries in the country for this style. I’ve not had too many of their beers that I have not liked.

Haha, yeah, that certainly wouldn't hurt. Doubtful I'll find any in the Great White North here, but I'll keep my eyes peeled!

That’s a bummer. What’s a good sour/saison brewer up there?

You'd likely be hard pressed to find it down there, but Four Winds out of Delta (Vancouver area) does some really great ones. Recently had a wild saison with logan berries from Category 12 that was really good as well, though they don't do a tonne of them.

I’ll keep an eye out. Those sound amazing.

I love that label, all old worldy and cool

Their artists are amazing.

Love the label !! Nice post.

Thanks, make sure to check back in for more great beer post.
