Beer: Castle Lager Draught
Beer: Castle Lager Draught

Wow, look at the color of the beer in the glass above. The advertisement of this beer states "somewhat dry, somewhat bitter, never sweet, the beer that stood the test of time" This hits the nail on the head!!

Look at the bubbles inside the beer!!

Some history of Castle Lager Draught
Castle Lager was first brewed in 1895. It has won the the "World's Best bottled Lager" award at the 2000 International Brewery Industry Awards. The beer has 5% alcohol, with a light hops taste. The company was founded in 1894 by Charles Glass, you can see his name on the glass. Some people however say that it was his wife Lisa who was responsible for the brewing of Castle Lager. I however don't care who founded the beer, for me it is important that I can still buy it and it tastes amazing.

On the photo above a few of us are enjoying our beers together. I am the only one with a Castle Lager Draught the other gentlemen are drinking Windhoek Draught, as featured in my post of yesterday. (Both bottled and on tap)
Castle Lager Draught also have an unique Africa first invention to ensure you get your beer as fresh as when it came out of the brewery. They call it tank fresh beer. The beer is pumped directly into the delivery truck from where it is pumped directly into special 500 litter copper tanks at selected outlets, and then straight into your glass!! Nice. The beer has no contact with the outside air until it hits your glass!! (I have not experienced this feature yet, as these outlets are close to the brewery) I am looking forward to the day I can try out this extra fresh beer.

Thank you very much @jlufer
Never tried African beer, sounds exotic!
It is very nice, our alcohol content however is not very high, mostly ranging between 4% and 5.5% for the popular beers.
