Beer Review

John Beer is a 5.5% alcohol/volume Session Style IPA made by Shebeen Brewing Company in Wolcott, Connecticut. Shebeen Brewing Company was launched in 2013 and has built a reputation as a great contract brewery for other local beer makers. They are home to the 'Cannoli Beer' made with select European grains, cream, nutmeg, cinnamon and vanilla to create a beer that simulates the famous Italian dessert pastry. The John Beer is a delicious easy drinking IPA, perfect for a summer day.

The Can

The John Beer is served in full pint cans. The label is awesome. The name of the beer is a pun of the large agricultural company, John Deere. The can looks like it could be the John Deere logo, but instead it's 'John Beer'. Some nice grass grows from the bottom of the can. Overall, I think it's fantastic can art and a name for a beer.

The Beer

The John Beer is not only a phenomenal name, but it's also a phenomenal beer. It's a hazy, hoppy New England style IPA, but it's absolutely crushable at 5.5% alcohol/volume. It's the perfect beer to have while you're out mowing your lawn. I look forward to trying more beer from the Shebeen Brewing Company in the future. They have been pumping out some delicious stuff lately!
