Milk Stout by Mikkeller -> Beer Review
The "Milk Stout" is a sweet dark beer from the cult Danish brewery Mikkeller. I have rarely been disappointed by Mikkeller's beers so far, which made me confident enough to purchase this one blindly, without looking at ratebeer.com. Another thing worth mentioning is that I will drink this one at room temperature; I have read somewhere that the qualities of craft beers are more pronounced when drank warm.

Color and Aroma
The Milk Stout pours nearly black with a good-sized, long-lasting beige head. The head also clings to the glass, thus producing some nice lacing. The color remains pitch black when I hold the glass against the light. It has a sweet, malty smell with some hints of coffee and caramel.
Nom nom
Taste
It feels smooth in the mouth and not as sweet as I expected it to be (which is a good thing!). The lactose is balanced nicely by the presence of coffee and moderate malty bitterness. My taste buds are also noticing something minty, which brings the whole experience to the next level. The sweet-bitter-minty aftertaste makes me crave for another sip. Carbonation is medium.
I love this beer, and the beer loves me back!
Verdict
I can't tell for sure whether the temperature had any impact on the taste. Nevertheless, Mikkeller's Milk Stout is a delicious brew, which I will not hesitate to recommend to all of you fellow beer drinkers.

Yeah, I remember your Mikkeller vs Mikkeller from last week :-) You should definitely try the milk stout if you are into sweet (dessert) beers.

Sounds very good, I love my beer ice cold, but I must say I don't drink stout a lot, perhaps, I will try room temperature one day! What is room temperature on a hot summers-day it can easily be above 30 degrees Celsius here in South Africa??

To be honest, I haven't thought about that, and although I love drinking beer, I am not such a good expert (yet) :) But who knows what's going to happen over time - if Steem continues to grow, and if my blog becomes popular enough, craft beer makers might start noticing me :)

You can't go wrong with Mikkeller - most of their beers are great. Another famous craft maker is To Øl but I haven't tried any of their brews yet.
I will be in Copenhagen and in Jutland. I will make sure to check out Mikkeller!

I like a sweeter dark beer, but most of the available darks around here are over-hopped and bitter. The Schell's brewery about 45 minutes away has some great light beers, which I prefer in summer. The tour is $5 and includes a couple pints :-D

Strangely, on the back label of the Milk Stout is printed: "Imported to the US by Shelton Brothers". I wonder how this beer ended up being sold in a shop in Bulgaria... Anyway, I am sure that most of Mikkeller's beers should be available to buy in the US.
