Coors Beer innovated the practice of using aluminum cans for beer, replacing steel lined tin cans.
This practice not only improved the flavor of the beer but lowered its shipping weight considerably and allowed it to chill faster.
They were also the first to start the recycling of aluminum cans, offering a penny for the return of each can.
