Pub Review - Paddy Murphy's Irish Pub Rotterdam

Whether you are new in town or a seasoned local, you can always find a one good night in the week to visit Paddy’s.

This is a really good place for live music! You can’t miss it, it’s in the centre of Rotterdam. There is a wide variety of good bands playing. There can be certain national type themed evening or just a mishmash of popular rock. Brazilians are known to have a steady following on their evenings.

The place itself isn’t huge, but surprises with how many people fit during the rush hour. There is an indoor smoking area.
Other than music they air some sports. Football games are popular and if you show up early, some report that don't need to pay the entrance fee. In my experience, service is fast and friendly. Overall a happy place with good vibes.

Now, the downsides. It is cozy but you have to pay extra in the evening when there's live music. Usually 3 euro which can seem a lot but if you compare it with a pint of beer it’s not that much. Beer is on the splurge side and it’s really hard to manage the expense in order to get tipsy as efficiently as possible. Everything is priced in the same range and expect to pay about 5 euro for a standard drink.

Would I prefer to drink at home or somewhere outside? For sure! But there are those evening when you just want something different and splurge a bit and then Paddy’s isn’t a terrible idea.

No Guinness on draught but you can get some Murphys Irish Stout. Same style - dry stout but Murphys has less alcohol and slightly lower popular score. Too bad.
