Do you know of a place which is in plain sight but nobody seems to know about it? That is how I feel about Vespa, a small bar at the beginning of Ilica street.

Just cross a passageway and enter the vestibule which leads to Zagreb Tunnels, the bar will be in front of you at 8 Ilica Street.

The Tunnels were recently used as a stage for a performance(?). They listed it as an ‘undercut opera’. More about it in some of my next posts. After the thrill of the underground Zagreb we sat down for a refreshment.

Here is how Vespa looks from the inside. Homey and unpretentious.

They are known for taking care of a couple of cats which live inside. However, at the time of photoshoot they were sleeping. Sorry, no cats in this post.

The other day I was chatting with @aksinya about Belhaven. Guess what I found in the fridge! They do not offer a wide variety of craft beer but macros are a bargain here. Pan beer starting at 11 kuna (1.61$) for 0.5 l.

Appearance	Golden amber. Head quickly gone. Love the space theme on the bottle! Am I geek or not?
Aroma	Pleasant citrus smell. Sweet as well. Fresh and inviting.
Taste	Slight bitterness. Distant caramel. Fresh ripe grapes. Bitter aftertaste.
Palate	Mild carb and watery.

Overall	Let’s face it. Pale lagers are nobody’s favourite. That makes this one all the better in the category! So, it was pleasant but it did not leave a lasting impression. Would have it again if the price was right and options were limited.
