Echoes of a Mining Town - Beautiful Sunday

My Share for #BeautifulSunday initiated by @ace108

What better way to spend our short vacation but to go up the mountains, feel the fresh cool air and enjoy a delightful view. A popular tourist spot when you visit Baguio, Philippines. Mines View Park is a vantage point to see the place where a mining town by the Americans in 1903 operated. It was the first mining industry in the Philippines.

After riding a public transportation called a jeepney and encountered heavy traffic. Which should have just been minutes away from the mountain city of Baguio but took longer due to the traffic. We finally reached the park and that large welcome sign invites you to see the breathtaking view. No entrance fee and some attractions inside attracts a lot of people to come here every day. A great family place to visit to enjoy the scenery.

Upon entrance a lot of plants are being sold. From cacti and flowering plants in pots you would certainly be wanting to buy a pot or two. Left and right shops are all over the place which enhances the ambiance of the park. Beautiful flowers blooming and I even saw some bees flying from flower to flower.

Another attraction includes ethnic costumes of the mountain people called Igorot. You could rent and walk around the place wearing these costumes with accessories included. This business is booming as there were people lining up to rent a costume. Taking photos and selfies wearing costumes with the perfect mountain view is a sure hit for everyone.

Take your photo riding a pony wearing colorful hats is another attraction. It attracts the little kids who are fascinated with the small horses.

Is there something the your heart desires? Try the wishing well, toss in a coin and see if your wish comes true.

They say if you hit that cup in the middle your wish will come true. No refunds though lol.

Pines trees are all over which gave the title of "The City of Pines" for Baguio City.

This is the way to see the view of the mines and the place is crowded. Would take a while before you could get a good family photo.

Lovers, families and friends take turns just to get a photo with the breathtaking view on the background.

Now let me leave you to enjoy some photos of the clouds, mountains and a view of the town below. I hope you enjoy.

I could not pin point where the actual mines were but you could see some open spots in the mountains. Could be the result of the mining or landslides.

15.JPG

As we head back more people were flooding in the place quite a very busy day today. Maybe on weekdays it is more less crowded where you could spend a quieter time with nature. But since it is summer vacation for the kids I assume that it will be crowded everyday.

It seems this has become more of a plant market :-)

The weather here is really good reason why the plants thrive. That is soo true as the plants out number the other goods being sold here lol.
