My Trip To Sifton Bog
Back in October of last year, when I was living in London, I walked down to the sifton bog. It took me an hour and a half to walk there from my house.
I finally got there, I had to walk on a boarded path for a while!
I decided to step of the boarded path around here, I started sinking, I finally escaped, but my shoe got really muddy.
I continued walking and I finally got to see some nice views!

Sifton Bog in London has been there a long time. The actual bog has been there since the 1870's. I believe it has had changes of the years. At one time someone had the brilliant idea to drain it and grow celery! It was a dismal failure. The Upper Thames River Conservation acquired the bog in 1967. A good Centennial project! They used to take school trips through the bog with the warning don't step off the wooden path. I think you probably know why! It is an amazing place for a nature walk, no what season you decide to go. I enjoyed this walk down memory lane. Thanks for sharing.
Its a great place! I wish I would have gone there more when i lived there. I went one other time on Easter

This boarded path reminds me of one of the Wetlands reserve we have.
Need to go and visit on a #beautifulsunday again. not been there for a while.

Reminds me of Mirrormere from LOTR all of the dead-eyes in the bog looking up. Spooky lol
