It is sort of relaxing if the wind isn't howling. I seem to have lost my laying on a towel on the beach days... I really ought to try it again. I don't know what happened. Maybe if i had someone to go with... Hmmmm
On a sunny clear day it's really nice and warm. Around 10:00 am you could lay out in a bathing suit. Back by the houses there's walls you can lean on and it's nice and quiet. On the south side of the pier they build a big sand berm that runs all the way down the beach. It's about 10 -15 feet high. Sometimes i lean back on it and rest and close my eyes after shooting surf shots. It's really great. You can't see the houses from there, just the ocean. It's not packed with people then.
It's nice but far from perfect. There are oil platforms out in the water and a lineup of huge tankers going into the port of Long Beach/Los Angeles. There are really great places north and south of me. Beautiful places! Laguna Beach is great and so is Palos Verdes. I don't have many photos of the places i used to be able to go to...
It's a really wide beach and not often very crowded except right next to the water. It gets windy with sand flying on a lot of days. Next weekend is going to be really crowded for the 4th of July holiday's

Hi salleybeth. Thank you! It's not quite Costa Rica but it will do : )
So much sand and sky! It does look really quiet. It looks relaxing. Will it fill up for the holiday?

That would make it nicer for sure... You should try it anyway. Just pick a calm day and send me the warm beach vibes.

Mid winter would be better for me. Oh god... i have no idea what i'm doing
Sitting on the beach in mid winter doesn't sound quite as relaxing! I guess with a good hay and a parka it might be workable.

That was supposed to be "hat" not hay. My phone autocorrected. I guess I write more about hay than I do about hats....

Hay! Of course!
That's the only way to fly. Nice and warm with no crowds and no buildings and just the water and the sand. Sigh.

Ah so it is before the weekend. Could explain why not very crowded.
