Beautiful Sunday and Sublime Sunday - Beautiful Flower Gardens in Chaiang Mai !!
This weekend i visited the city of Chaiang Mai which is known for it's beautiful high mountain ranges and cooler air. They say that Chiang Mai is a land of misty mountains and colorful hill tribes, a playground for seasoned travelers, a paradise for shoppers and a delight for adventurers.
Chiang Mai is a city in the northern part of Thailand the city was founded in 1296. I have visited this beautiful city a few times on my travels to Thailand and have had many beautiful adventures in this city but today i want to show you were i spent my beautiful Sunday.
I am a lover of nature i love colorful flower gardens and beautiful trees and i had heard of this huge garden setting that was up in the mountains called the Doi Tung Royal Villa and Mae Fah Luang Garden so follow me this is were i am going to take you this Sunday.
The Doi Tung Royal Villa and Mae Fah Luang Garden in Chiang Rai are the most visited by tourist from around the world it was home and residence of Her late Royal Highness Princess Srinakarindra, the Princess Mother of Thailand she had it built in Lanna and Swiss architectural styles in 1987. After she had passed away she had it planned to lease out to the Royal Forest Department.
They say that Mae Fah Luang Garden is the most beautiful landscaped garden in Thailand filled with hundreds of different kinds of plants and flowers from all around the world because of it's cooler climates in the mountains and that it is indeed everywhere i looked around me was just breathtaking.
Her late Royal Highness Princess Srinakarindra had the 10 acres of gardens mostly down in temperate Western flowers which gave the opportunity to the Thai people who could not afford to travel overseas to come here to enjoy and admire all of these beautiful Western flowers what a brilliant and beautiful idea.
This magnificent sculpture that stands in the middle of the gardens the Princess Mother named this sculpture "Continuity" to encourage the Thai people that continuity ensures the success of any endeavor.
With the cool climate all year round you not only see all these beautiful colorful gardens with many various types of annual and perennial flowering plants but they also have beautiful rock gardens , water gardens , ornamental garden and palm gardens and there are many wooden benches underneath trees around the gardens if you just want to sit and admire the scenery and maybe have a little picnic.
There is also a beautiful coffee shop called the " Cafe Doi Tung " where you can relax have a coffee or a refreshing ice coffee and enjoy the breathtaking mountains views from an elevation of 1,630 meters above sea level, looking out into the city of Chiang Mai over the mountains.
You really need to plan for a whole day at these wonderful gardens if you want to see all 10 acres of this beauty these are huge garden they even have enclosed cactus house , fern house and orchid house which i honestly never made it around that far maybe next time i go i will visit the other half of these stunning gardens.
The ideal way is to spend a few days here there is jungle trekking right from this area and the Doi Tung Tree Top Walk which i heard are rope bridges that take you above areas of the forest where you can overlook fields of coffee trees, dams and distant mountains and there are resorts near by you can book into.

The statue continuity is quite inspiring, and I really like the old wooden cart filled with flowers.
