Cycling California, Campbell/Los Gatos

in #beautifulsunday6 years ago

Today was an afternoon ride through Campbell and Los Gatos, it was a cool and overcast 65* f day and a bit breezy. The shot below is at a peaceful park named Vasona lake. Lexington reservoir feeds this lake via stream and is about 5 miles south in the Los Gatos foothills. Dams were built at both locations.
The fresh water feeds percolations ponds in campbell which fills an underground 'well' for drinking water in Santa Clara county.

The ride was 19 miles and 400 feet of climbing.

I passed a dog park at the percolation ponds in Campbell

While passing over a bridge in Vasona, I noticed an egret looking for lunch.

Happy beautiful Sunday!

Sort:

looks like the park is going to be more busy in the coming weeks.

Yeah, the weather is going to be 75* going into this week!

The first picture is idyllic. One can spend hours sitting on that bench staring into space, writing a book or such like. Love it.

The last picture properly shows how aggressively your bike is setup.

I can spend quite a bit of time at the lake and just relax, they need a cafe there lol. My seat to handlebar drop is at the maximum as the stem is bottomed out. Only racers and people that want to go fast have it setup like this.

Great post. It doesn't seem like you are getting the likes it deserves though. Have you checked out the upvote communities? You should check out steemengine. or steemfollower.com.

I do not think there is too much support for cyclists on Steemit. At least that is my experience. I typically need to use bots and other services to get decent upvotes, it does not matter what I post. If you do not have a whale or dolphin supporting you, your out of luck..........

Wao friend Great crossing that made, but to see that lake and a safe bike would try to cross it handling haha.

Thanks @glennolua for stopping by my post! I was reading your post and my, really love the last photo with the bike and the color painting artpieces! The park looks really like it's a great place to go on weekends, and I'm so tempted in wanting to try out that train even though I don't have kids lol! Upvote to support your post, and please come visit my post for new postings and lemme know what your thoughts are with my artwork. Cheers~

I'm sure most artists would find the vivid bridge paintings interesting. I'll have to say that some of those grade schoolers can paint very well. They have a lot of creativity for such a young age.

Agreed @glennolua on those grade schoolers! There are some real creative and emerging talents for the future generations! Lol...stay in touch, and looking forward to your new posts!

Good scenes you are visiting. Good blog.

Great pics brother....especially cement airplane, I never imagined such a thing would exist

Good job! Photos are really nice, i also like your giant bike ;) Upvoted!
