Now Introducing: BEATMAKERS ON STEEM - The Greatest Place for Beats on Steem, Powered by ChainBB

in #beats7 years ago (edited)

What if it was easier to earn money for your beats? Well, now it is.

Lots of people are out there on Soundcloud trying to sell off beats for a few bucks. It's cool, but it's limiting. I don't want to see musicians forced into a box, chasing trends for a quick buck.

That's why I was fucking excited to see Jesta’s post announcing the new ChainBB sub-forum system. Here's a quick overview:

1. ChainBB is an alternate Steem front-end that is "forum style", as opposed to Steemit's "reddit style."
2. Anybody can spend 10 Steem to launch a new forum
3. The creator of the forum receives a small portion of the rewards (1% of author rewards to start)

This is awesome on a bunch of levels. It's better for building community since you can get everybody in one place, unlike Steemit's gigantic bucket of posts. It incentivizes the forum creator to promote and build the community since they get a tiny slice of the rewards.

You Can Earn Big Rewards on the Beatmaking Forum - Here’s How

I recently joined an electronic music curation group with @kevinwong and @edje - we’re trying to upvote ~10 posts a day. Each vote, if at full strength, is worth $20 - and I’ll be looking at every post in the beatmaking forum for consideration.

That means if you wanna earn $20+ per post, start posting your beats on this thing. No guarantees of course - but if you put some effort into your posts (~200 words, a decent beat, an image or two, new + original material) — it is very likely you’ll get the upvote.

Just to be clear: I do not have sole power over this vote. All decisions are made through a group process… but seriously, we are desperate for more great beats to curate and upvote. So help us out, post more beats, lol.

A Few More Reasons that ChainBB is BEASTMODE

Most importantly: ChainBB is a sustainable model. Imagine that your favorite beat collectives, artists, etc, were building their own communities on ChainBB, and everybody gets paid for the work they do. Fans, journalists, beatmakers, DJs, promoters, everybody gets a piece. It's all transparent and open. That is a model I can believe in.

I dream of a day where major beat collectives like Skrillex's OWSLA are on steem.

@jesta, the founder of ChainBB, has proven to be one of the best and most transparent/communicative developers on all of steem. I'm happy to support his project.

How to Log In and Share Beats on ChainBB

ChainBB is a steem front-end, just like Steemit.com, Busy.org, esteem, Zappl, and many others.

Here's what you do:

(1) Go to the ChainBB front-end: https://beta.chainbb.com

(2) Click on "Sign In" (top right corner of home page)

(3) Give your POSTING KEY (not password - it's always safer to use posting key, just as a general rule)
(3a) btw - your posting key is in your "wallet" area of steemit. Here's a guide to finding it.

(4) Click on the subforum "Beatmakers on Steem" and post your beat :-)

It's a few down from the top of the forum list.

(5) Sit back and watch the money come in (if your shit is good anyway lol)

Does this sound good to you? What can I do to convince to you start sharing beats on ChainBB?

With love and respect,

This is awesome, I'm going to make a beat just so I can post it on the forum, stay tuned, and in tune ;)

Yes, yes, yes!! looking forward to it :-)

Where is the beat? Make it a 'fuck to' type of beat yo!

Dope. I'm gonna join tonight!

Great, see you there!

Did you join add me on there too!

I posted with it, you just log in using your steemit posting key, it is a forum view of steemit, but if you post thru it people can see you're using it.

Also the BEAT MAKERS on STEEM forum will automatically add the Beats tag to your post, you add the other 4, making it easier to make new subforums and whatnot

Dude. Stop spamming your link. Take that somewhere else.

what are the restrictions for use of the beats posted here?
can they be used in derivative works?

It's up to the person who uploads them. By default, whoever posts the beat retains all rights... but if they explicitly put it out under a creative commons license, or as public domain, then you could use them in derivative works. It's no different w/ regards to rights than it would be to post on steemit.

thanks...just wondering.

Salute @heymattsokol ! Respect on the initiative to support hiphop and the the artists on the blockchain. check my post shortly, Kudos!
