BeachWednesday: Wildlife on a Portuguese beach

When at the beach one does not feel in the mood to go swimming, some of us spend the time photographing wildlife !

On that particular day I photographed three species of birds that inhabit the Portuguese marine coast:
The sanderling (Calidris alba), the ruddy turnstone (Arenaria interpres) and the lesser black-backed gull (Larus fuscus).

          we have so many Ruddies here at the bay (Seixal). They camouflage well with rocks.
