In the DNCCC and DSCC elections, total number of candidates for the post of mayor, councilor and reserved women councilor is 382. Of these, 5 mayor posts. The number of candidates in the 36 general wards council council in the two cities is 310. The number of candidates for the post of women councilor of 6 reserved wards in the North South City is 69.
In this election, the party symbol is elected to the mayor's post, but the election of the party's independent symbol is elected in the Councilor's post. Meanwhile, a candidate of Dhaka Ward No 9 has been elected unopposed.
In the DNCCC sub-election, five are contesting the mayor. They are: Awami League's Atiqul Islam, Shafin Ahmed from the Jangar Party of the Langal symbol, Shahin Khan from the Progressive Democratic Party (PDP), the National People's Party (NPP) Anisur Rahman Dewan and Independent Candidate North South Properties Limited Chairman.
