Keep In Mind That Splinterlands Is Just One Game On The Steem Blockchain, There Can Be Thousands

in #battle5 years ago (edited)

Lol I almost called it Steem Monsters.

Like Splinterlands or not it is a great example of what a game can be on the steem blockhain and how it is a better experience for a gamer to own their assets then spend money or earn items that have no real world value. You might not get rich playing it but you are making a lot more than ANY other game out there. Your time and money are valuable and you should be treated well for being a loyal customer to a product.

But there is no reason there cannot be hundreds of games like this or even thousands. As the steem blockchain is open source any one can make a game on top of it and take advantage of the tools that other games will be lacking. There can be mmos, fighting games, card games, building sims and any other genre you can think of. There can be games that only put some side items on the steem blockchain or go heavy and design the whole game on the blockchain.

You might have heard the slogan before that steem is not steemit. And this is the reason why that is so important. Maybe you do not like steemit or Splinterlands but you are a fan of battlegames.io or steemleo. Or maybe there is a game coming out that you really want to play that utilises steem. And even if there isn't then you can design your own and get the perks from a community and a new coin. We are all in the steem ecosystem together and we need to think big. I do want to see Steemit kick off and it is great to have a hub with high traffic but every game and site that brings in new users is a boon to the blockchain.

We need to start looking outward and getting more indie developers to join our team. We have the power to support them and promote them with our community. And when one does well we all do well. We do not want to support any scam games that are just looking for a quick dollar (and people will try to make them) but there are a LOT of talents indie game devs out there who I would love to see join our team.

Lets get excited about the steem blockchain we are just scratching the surface of what we can do here. Think of it like a new game console (that can upgrade itself) that only has one or two launch titles. You know the good games are coming and will be for years and years. And if you are a programmer or know someone tell them to join us. With battle I can help promote their work.

There is this silly little game called Castle Story which is made by Team Lava that I would LOVE if a version of it was on the blockchain.

Its one of those games, you build a castle, you get a certain amount of energy to update stuff, your energy regenerates over time - if you are impatient you can spend money to build things faster, etc.

I would love to see it here.

There are numerous games like this that I have found available in the App Store on my mobile.

I mentioned awhile back that if we could get gaming developers to build these types of games on Steem blockchain it would be awesome.

I’m not sure why it has not happened yet , but I feel it’s a massive opportunity begging for us to take and put us ahead of other blockchain.

You could even include payment via PayPal like Steem Monsters have and people could be investing fiat into the Steem economy without even knowing it.

Great to know I’m not the only one thinking along these lines . Unfortunately I’m not a developer and would not know where to start .
But it would be a easy win for someone that does I feel.

Thanks for sharing,
Have an awesome day!

I think so and I am developing a new Trading Card Game calling Rada Quest. You can take a look at the future cards art in my blog.

This post just made me realize that this was a tribe for Gaming like video games not just gambling... the spade threw me off... i still staked some of the tokens i got for free

I have been saying that GAMES on steem can be developed for a whiel with @dlux-io by @disregardfiat and @markegiles
and now with steem-engine we wil have NFT Non Fungoible Tokens liek crypto kitties tHAt will open us up for so many new games to be created just based around collecting these tokens

there will be pokemon style collections, planets, astrological signs, refrigerators with food you have to collect, birthstones, it will prey ion peoples OCD liek never before

basically every movie pixar makes about Food or Emojis will become a steem game

Well analysed. The chain has made a huge step forward with the new tribes - if one time - even in 3 years - the prize is reflecting that we all are happy!

I still call it Steem-Monsters as well. Its going to be hard to break that habit.

The STEEM blockchain is growing in utility every week. I'm viewing this on #mediaofficials yet another great site using the chain!

Whilst I joined battlegames.io I am actually reading this on steemace.io . Steemace.io is another gaming community that is on the steem blockchain.
I totally agree we should create a gaming hub here in steem.
But we should be careful not to create too many communities.
Let’s work together and create an awesome gaming hub on Steem blockchain.

There is no such thing as too many communities!

I would LOVE it if there was a community on here for just me and my family (but its a hard pass, since no one else is into crypto), it could be like having a private group on facebook or something.

So many uses, and each tribe is like a magnet for more people.

I totally agree .
But the old saying strength in numbers tends to ring true.
I’m all for niece communities though.
Nothing wrong with having a lot of them .
