Steem Basic Income
Steem Basic Income is a social experiment to bring a basic income to as many Steemians as possible. Members join by sponsoring others into the program. Steem Basic Income is delivered through providing regular upvotes to member content.
Delegation Bonus Shares
Existing members can receive bonus shares from delegation. For every 20 SP delegated to @steembasicincome, members will receive 1 bonus share. These bonus shares will be removed if the delegation is withdrawn. Currently each share in pool 1 receives a weekly voting weight of roughly 1.95%.
@sbi2, @sbi3, and @sbi4 are managed to target multiples (e.g. 200 shares ~ 400 SP, 500 shares ~1000 SP, etc.) For this reason we ask that members that are delegating for bonus shares always delegate to pool 1 and we will manage the SP flow into the lower pools appropriately. If you want to fill SP orders through minnowbooster's market, you are of course welcome to fill the orders going to lower pools. Please do not combine filling orders for pool 1 (@steembasicincome) with delegating for bonus shares.

Any Steemian that is already enrolled in @steembasicincome can delegate as much as they would like, to receive bonus shares. If you are not already a member but would like to delegate, please send an enrollment transaction to @steembasicincome and we will add your bonus shares at the time we process your enrollment.

Great news! To enroll, send 1 STEEM to @steembasicincome. Include the name of the Steemian to sponsor in the transaction memo. You and the person you sponsor will each receive 1 share in the program. If you decide on both, it's fine to send 2 STEEM with both names in the same transaction memo.

Bonus shares from delegation receive the same boost from your upvoting that your regular shares receive.

A full bonus from upvoting @steembasicincome is based on how close you reach to a goal of 28 full upvotes each month. Since we don't get update out every day, you would need to upvotes at least some comments in order to hit the goal. You are currently at 25% of goal (7 upvotes in the last 28 days).
If you choose to upvote beyond the goal, there is no extra benefit until we finish putting our new system in place. At that point we will evaluate whether you would have earned more under the new system and catch you up if you would have.

We set the goal to be 100% of our daily posts, but then we're doing a lot of other processes behind the scenes and don't get updates out every day.

Your weekly upvote weight is distributed based on your own posting history, so we can't predict how many shares would increase your upvote with precision. Most of the calculations are explained in this post:

Good going. Once I get some real SP I will be able to delegate to this. But for now I'm paying back the initial loan that I got from Steemit when I created this account.
Every time I earn some, they take some back.
Yeah, the way they manage delegation on new accounts is really demotivating. We actually recommend you build up your SP to 500+ before delegating. It gives you a slider to control how much you upvote by, which makes it much easier to manage your voting power.

Now that your enrollment is processed, you will start receiving regular upvotes on all your posts. The bonus shares from your delegation are factored into the upvote weight that you will receive.
Love it that you're responding and helping everyone. truly shows that this is a good cause built for helping the community instead of ruining the reward pool! Keep on doing what you're doing. I hope that as I grow I'll be able to get more shares and give other people ones. (I currently have 1 that I won in a contest).
