UBI should have begun to have been implemented 25 years ago. The boom in computers and communication technologies wiped out 1000s of jobs in the 90s. Only a booming population and strong western economies have stopped it being a serious requirement, however, we are now seeing the beginnings of automation on an unprecedented level which is why I believe UBIs will be a necessity in the west over the coming 20 years. However, they have been, are and will be even more so desperately needed in less properous nations now.
I dont think Musk is interested tbh, he just loves innovating and inventing leaving others to sort out the effects!
