Chinese Influences on Thai Culture

It's been years and years like hundreds that Chinese people started to come in and so some business in Thailand. A lot of them migrated here and live here for generations. A lot of Thai people are hybrid Thai-Chinese, like, myself.. Yes, do I really look like real Thai to you? Let me answer that, 'No, not really' LOLOL

That's the reason why there're a lot of things that we still got some influences from Chinese culture. A lot of places since the past still exist and are actually becoming trending spots for people who look for things to do in Bangkok / in Thailand to come visit.

Lhong 1919 (ล้ง 1919) is one of them here in Bangkok, Thailand. A friend and I just went there the other day to check it out and get some footages for my mini vlog as usual.

Lhong 1919 (ล้ง 1919)

Lhong 1919 Bangkok is a 19th century Chinese mansion that has been fully restored and opened as an attraction. It mixes Bangkok heritage with shopping, dining and lots of interesting photo opportunities

In parts, it feels a little like a theme park recreation of what a 19th century Chinese mansion should be, but it’s still wildly popular with locals and visitors. - Bangkok.com -

Wang Lee is the family name of Lhong 1919 's owner

First when I got to the place I was like, 'Wow, this is cool' as I really don't see much of this type of place in Thailand (Not much any more, at least.) It's interesting somewhat.

Then, literally after a few minutes of looking around, observing - the curiousity came to mind so I went to ask a staff

'Sis, what do people do around here?'

Really dude! It's so dang vague and you really would end up like me. Not sure what to do. The answer was something like 'Oh.. They usually come to dine in, take photos and walk around..'

Make sense! Not much to do around here but really, just chill..

A lot of content online says it popular and trending.. Not sure if they hype it up a bit as really Lhong 1919 is pretty quiet. I was there from the afternoon till a bit later when the sun was already set. More people (bur really, not a lot) came later at night for dinner or some private party. Oh! a group of students also came for the chic photos with the Chinese walls! :D

Ancient Chinese Mural Painting

That's actually one of a few things you could do.. go check out all the art on the wall on the second floor of the building.

Chinese painting is one of the oldest continuous artistic traditions in the world. Painting in the traditional style is known today in Chinese as guóhuà (simplified Chinese: 国画; traditional Chinese: 國畫), meaning "national" or "native painting", as opposed to Western styles of art which became popular in China in the 20th century. - Wikipedia -

Chao Phraya River

Good thing Lhong1919 is located just right by the Chao Phraya River here in Bangkok, Thailand. (My favourite spot to chill! Literally anywhere along that river, I'm down! :D ) so if you're really out of things to do in Bangok (No no no, not that bad actually), come chill!

The Chinese paintings on the wall are so cool~
I never expect to see this kind of Chinese style building in Thailand.

Next time you're here, I'll bring you there catty! :) <3

Love the fully opened lotus flower shot.

Hahaha Thanks dolphin! :)

You're welcome

How long do you plan on staying in Bangkok? Making sure I have the money, I would fly to Thailand sometime next year so we can make a SERIES OF SHORT STORIES with you.

SCREAMMMMMM! I love your short story seriessss!!!! I'm here forever. Just started the building an planning on opening a cafe or chafe LOLOL Let's see. Come! :)

No freaking way! Perfect, I think the one thing I missed a ton in Thailand was having a local showing me the ropes. I felt like an outsider and spoiled westerner to be honest. So I think my videos suffered because of it!

I'll make it happen! I'm getting my freelancing back online so once I get more consistent with that, I'm SO FREAKING DOWN.

Just found a 471 dollar round trip ticket from new york to bangkok. SO yeah, next year, I want to go back to south east asia. <3

So COOL ! See you soon then!!!!!! :D
