NYC Moisture Versus Cold Air Game Again

Good morning everyone. We're back in watch-mode as we await our next system, and it's the same game all over again (with a few differences). Let's first enjoy our brief modification of temps for a couple of days, then see what Mother Nature has in store for us. Either way, cold air returns Wednesday with a vengeance.

SATELLITE

Look for cloudy skies this morning, then maybe a few blue patches. Highs today in the low to mid 50's. For Veteran's Day tomorrow, we do the opposite. Maybe a few blue patches in the morning, then clouding up again. We'll have one more seasonal day with highs in the mid to upper 50's. REGIONAL RADAR
Rain creeps in by Monday night, and lows in the mid 40's will be Tuesday's early highs. Expect temps to plummet as the day goes on, and it'll be a race to the finish line to see if we can get a mix into the area. Most of the energy will be in New England, so it could be another case of the precipitation shutting off before the cold air gets here. However, the cold air is moving faster than it did on Thursday, so that may negate the fact precipitation sticks around longer to our Northeast.

We shall see, but I don't think it's a big deal regardless. The ground will be wet and temps will be above freezing before anything wintry ends, so expect zero accumulation.

LOCAL RADAR NEW YORK CITY

The big story remains the cold air coming back in. We'll drop into the 20's overnight in NYC, teens N&W of NYC, and maybe a few teens on Long Island as well; especially in more sparsely populated areas in Suffolk.

We won't get out of the mid 30's on Wednesday with a windy day, and Thursday the recovery is very slow with low 40's.
