He stored his paintings, sculptures and earthenware in his mansions in order to highlight them. Mennechet died in 1903 at the age of 90, but the castle is not finished. The 69 paintings in the collection are then bequeathed to the city of Saint Quentin.
During the First World War, the castle was damaged. It was also undergo the bombings of the Second World War. The castle was never restored and had to be destroyed. But a resident of the city became interested in the castle and with the mayor, they managed to have it classified as a Historical Monument in 2011.

Creepy castle! I half expect Dracula or some other monster popping out.
too much creepy place here , there is a place in the middle of the forest where the old hospital located , but it's forbidden to access, it's too old, huge and some people died, they tried to go inside and felt down in stairs, coz they want to explore the creepy hospital :)
