You Find the Darndest Things in the Rainforest - Abandoned Shit Weekly Contest - №.3 - Vehicles
We were walking through the beautiful Hoh Rainforest in Olympic National Park in western Washington state expecting to see flocculent moss covered trees (which we did), enchanting dew covered flowers (which we did) and maybe even a majestic pronged elk (which we did not). We were not prepared to stumble upon this spectacular rust covered beauty!
There was a subtle, sexy glow about this forgotten delivery truck...a gentle rain can work miracles. Aren't those colorful striations gorgeous?...they repeat the lines going on in that fantastic curvaceous grill!
While there was a "FOR SALE" sign, I don't recall seeing a phone number to call so perhaps it was only a joke. It seemed as if nature was claiming it as her own anyway.
I left there with so many questions. Why was this truck sitting in the middle of a national park? Was there some sign somewhere explaining the story that I missed somehow? Who used to drive this truck and what did they deliver? I could go on an on but I will spare you.

That's a great abandoned wreck and the For Sale sign is like the icing on the cake! Also, the plants (or saplings?) growing behind the cab... I'd love to see this again in a few years with a tree growing out of the open door! resteemed & upped

I really love this superb capture @samanthajbarnes I had no difficulty at all in finding the subtle glow .......the sexy glow I'm still searching for. (lol) But it has a ton of appeal and is a beautiful and professional shot. Good luck with the contest, although I don't think you'll need it. Your subject matter and your skill with the camera makes you a winner in my eyes. (Following )
